Table liked this one, so I thought it's worth a share.
Button straddle is actually $5.
BB snap calls the $40. When the flop comes he cuts out $45, but I see him glance up at me for a split second, looking for a reaction, which I read as him not having an A, so I make it $145.
He tanks VERY uncomfortably for a solid minute, clearly pained between a fold, a call, or a shove. Because of this, I'm more certain he doesn't have an A and is on a FD.
He calls and check the A to let him think I'm worried he has it so he might bluff a busted draw on the river.
River bricks and he snap shoves his $445. I pause 30 seconds or so and look at the board to make sure I don't think he rivered a straight or something weird with a combo draw. Meanwhile, the guy to my right starts yapping at the dealer that he wants to see both hands, and the dealer assures him if it goes to showdown he'll table both hands.
I cut out $445 from my stack, and push it into the pot.
"Good call," he says and pats the table, flipping over Q8hh.
I table JJ and scoop the pot.
Long live Calgary poker. ❤️
